Shadow     

I have some questions and I was wondering if anyone could help.
I've had some interesting experiences since I was a small kid. I'm not claiming that I "see dead people." I'm just saying that I tend to know when "things" are around. I've become pretty good at cleansing my space, keeping things out, using prayer to keep other things at bay.
Last night I prayed for guidance. I prayed to the Christian God and was very clear that I was seeking guidance from him and his angels and nothing else. However, I was woken to the sound of hissing. I thought nothing of it and rolled over and back to sleep. Then I heard the hissing again, opened my eyes, and a shadow person (may have been more than one) was standing over me. I saw what looked like a weird stick diagram that glowed red. It unfolded until it looked like a stick person. I didn't feel like the presence was "good" so I began yelling and chased it out of the house. (waking up family members in the process...) It left behind a foul smell. Closest thing I can compare the smell to is a foul smell I used to remember from my great grandmother's house or a nursing home; it was pungent mix of urine and decay.
Anyways, I've felt drained all day. My question: what could that stick figure have meant? I was asking guidance for my life: where should I be, what am I meant to do. This glowing stick figure didn't really answer the question.
TLDR: What could a glowing red stick figure of a person, manipulated by a shadow person, mean?
